At A Touch of Class Adult Care, the safety and well-being of our residents is our top priority. We welcome families and loved ones to visit and encourage regular connection. Please review our visiting guidelines below to ensure a safe and comfortable experience for everyone.

Visitation Policy

Purpose
It is our goal to ensure that both our Residents and Visitors are safe during visitation.

Policy
A Touch of Class #1 Adult Care LLC ALF is open for visitation only when there is no confirmed or suspected Infectious or Communicable Disease. This restriction does not apply to compassionate care or essential visitors.

A. Resident Rights
Residents have the right, subject to their consent, to receive visitors they designate — including a spouse, family member, or friend — and to have consensual physical contact with those visitors.

B. Right to Withdraw Consent
Residents have the right to withdraw or deny consent to visitation at any time.

C. In-Person Visitation Circumstances
The facility will allow in-person visitation in the following situations:

End-of-life situations
A resident struggling with the transition from home to facility care due to lack of family support
A resident making major medical decisions
A resident experiencing emotional distress or grieving a recent loss
A resident who needs cueing or encouragement to eat or drink, previously provided by a family member
A resident who has become withdrawn or no longer interacting with others

D. Visitation Rules

Visiting hours: every day, 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM
Maximum 2 visitors per resident at a time; visits are a minimum of 2 hours
Visitors are encouraged to call in advance
Visitors presenting respiratory illness symptoms are discouraged from visiting
All visitors will be screened upon entry and must complete a screening questionnaire
Proof of vaccination will not be required
All visitors must decontaminate hands upon entry using hand hygiene or alcohol-based hand rub
All visitors must wear face masks

E. Visitor Suspension
The facility may require a visitor to agree in writing to this policy and reserves the right to suspend a visitor for disruptive behavior, risk to patient safety, infection risk, or the patient’s need for rest or privacy.

F. Responsibility
The Administrator or Designee of A Touch of Class #1 Adult Care LLC ALF is responsible for ensuring staff adhere to all visitation policies and procedures.

Essential Caregiver Policy

Essential caregivers are designated by the resident or their legal representative. By designating an essential caregiver, the following is understood and consented to:

Visits are subject to facility policies and screening procedures.
Visits may be scheduled based on current facility conditions and are a minimum of 2 hours daily.
Limited to one visitor at a time in designated areas only. Please speak with the Administrator regarding possible exceptions for end-of-life situations.
The resident retains the right to object to a visit at any time, including in circumstances such as end-of-life situations, emotional distress, medical decision-making, or withdrawal from social interaction.
Essential caregivers must follow all infection control policies and procedures. Proof of vaccination will not be required.
Essential caregivers must sign an acknowledgment of required training and infection prevention adherence.
Visits by a specific essential caregiver may be suspended for failure to follow infection control requirements. The resident or their representative may then designate a new essential caregiver.

Families wishing to designate an essential caregiver may complete and return the form below to our staff.

Infection Control & Communicable Disease Policy

Communicable Disease — Visitor Restrictions
Any person who is infected with, showing symptoms of, or has had close contact with a communicable disease is prohibited from visiting until cleared by their healthcare practitioner. This includes persons from communities with confirmed community spread as identified by the CDC or state public health agencies. A 14-day restriction applies.

Prevention Measures
To protect our residents and staff, we ask all visitors to practice the following:

Avoid close contact with anyone who is ill
Avoid touching eyes, nose, and mouth
Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue and discard immediately
Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces
Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water for at least 20 seconds — especially after using the restroom, before eating, and after coughing or sneezing
If soap and water are unavailable, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol

Infection Control Procedures
Our staff follow strict infection control protocols including universal precautions, proper PPE use and disposal, handwashing between residents, glove changes between residents, and bio-hazardous waste disposal. Food handling, laundry, and housekeeping all follow documented protocols reviewed regularly by the Administrator or a licensed Nurse.
